I'm just a big do it yourselfer
I've never really gotten into vehicles until the past year or so. I never understood them enough to touch them without being scared I'd break something. I started digging into the truck with just a little experience, and since, I've learned so much.
I've never seen or done half of the stuff I've accomplished on the truck, just overcame the paranoia of breaking it. I'm pretty good figuring out how things work, so this is kind of a big learning session.

The bug
Since high school, I've bounced around the country working in various states and national parks, taking my truck with me. I've run her hard, and she's always been there when I needed her to be. I finally ended up in Salina, KS in 1998 (home to me) where I took some classes at KSU-Salina.

One of my roommates was a pilot, and was the motivating factor to get me to Newton. We both started taking flight lessons, and Jimmie and his instructor was in a crash in May of 2001. With that and 9/11 events, I've been hesitant to fly since, but still want to get at least my private pilot's license so I can at least take his dad up once. So now, I'm just waiting to get married to move on, and get back "home", and have been staying busy on the truck since the bug bit.

The bug bit me last fall when I decided to take on this project. I needed something to do in my spare time, and the truck had been really good to me. Soooo, I decided to baby it completely and rebuild it from the ground up. When I'm finished, I'll have learned everything from bodywork to welding.

Now I've been bitten, and have more plans than I have time and money, so it's been good so far...
